Agroal Nature Park

The Agroal Nature Park is located in Agroal, in the parish of Formigais, in the municipality of Ourém, as part of the Sicó-Alvaiázere Natura Site. Bordering the River Nabão, its main objective is to make the population aware of the importance of nature conservation, making them aware of the geomorphology / hydrology and the flora and fauna through the Alto Nabão Environmental Interpretation Centre and two hiking trails.

In addition to the activities it runs throughout the year, the Interpretation Center has a permanent exhibition on the region’s fauna and flora. It also has a multipurpose room for activities and an exhibition room.

Outside, there is an interpretive garden about the local vegetation, a picnic area with a barbecue, a camping area, toilets, dishwashers and washing tanks.

Use of the park requires a request from the municipal company Ourémviva, the entity responsible for its management. Access to the park is via a paved road (the main road) and there is parking for around 50 vehicles.
