Wakeboard World Championship

Albufeira de Castelo do Bode will once again host the world’s biggest wakeboarding event from August 31 to September 3. The fight for the WWA world title will take place at Praia do Lago Azul in Ferreira do Zêzere, where over four days the biggest names in the sport and more than a hundred amateurs will compete for the titles of world champions in the various categories.

The competition, which has already been held in more than 30 editions around the world, is returning to Portugal eight years after its debut in 2015, precisely in the crystal-clear waters of what is considered one of the world’s greatest water sports treasures. The event is free to all who wish to attend.

Throughout the four days of the event, visitors will have the opportunity to socialize with the professional athletes, as well as access to various leisure and entertainment venues, with local gastronomy and exhibitions. This year’s highlight is the new initiative carried out by the organization, called the SQUARE +351 zone, a space dedicated to the exhibition and sale of small Portuguese brands, in order to promote and boost their visibility on the national and international market, and which is completely free of charge for the participating brands.
